Dear Chao, Well, someone forced me to listen to the contest speeches
with concentration. hahahaha
As for the Table Topics contest,
Lester's great wording and organization were a plus;however,
he focused on the resolutions instead of explaining the reasons
of global food shortage.
David used the theory of Supply and Demand to support his points
like a real expert. A little bit too serious.
The Champion Tracy successfully took herself as a
powerful example at the beginning. And she tried to get the
audience involved by another example of food shortage during
the coffee break. What a convincing point, bringing us a lot of
laughter. Well, self-depreciation will be a plus in the contest.
In the Prepared Speech contest, apparently Sammy was
second to none. Sometimes I thought that draw orders
have some influences in the contest.
Monica presented her wonderful performance just before Sammy.
Her vivid vocal variety and dynamic body movements were a plus
to her speech, especially her Chinese opera performance in
English. That part was fresh in the audience's eyes.
In terms of speech value, Andy's speech was a touching
one. Combining two different occasions, his own wedding
anniversary and his good friend's funeral,he used the
flowers as metaphor to stress his points. Personally
I loved that part about his wife very much. A woman's
heart is like a needle in the sea. He got great sense
of humor.
Frankly speaking,Ichi was my third place. I loved
her comparison between a dolly and a Barbie at
her opening. However, she didn't focus on the transition
in the body. Maybe she put too many points together
without a good organization.
Well,my humble opinions to share with my Role Model.
(I regard it as one of my homework. Again, thank you very
much for this good chance to practice my evaluation skills.)
